Better with Bees is a student run club in Charles P. Allen High School, which is located in Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada. Our team has a mission to empower students with the ability to make a change in the community.
With a focus on urban environmental sustainability, CPA's Better with Bees is creating a Wabanaki meadow surrounding a Mi'kmaq Medicine Garden. Fundraising, designing, planning and planting are all skills that students will develop as team members.
CPA's Better with Bees will demonstrate to the community a model for future urban sustainability possibilities. The project will allow Bedford and the greater Nova Scotia community to see what is possible when native species are at the forefront of environmental planning.

Better with Bees represents a transformative initiative by CPA, integrating environmental sustainability with educational excellence. The meadow project not only focuses on the creation and maintenance of meadows rich in native flora but also incorporates the innovative use of bee hives within the school grounds. Hence the inclusion of bee hives significantly enhances the project's impact, providing a dynamic, hands-on learning experience for students while actively contributing to the conservation of bee populations.
